Pioneering Green & affordable Energy Solutions

Powering Communities, Honouring Our Kaumātua

Kaumātua Energy is a community-based energy company based in Whangārei, focused on bringing affordable electricity to our elders and regional households through rooftop solar farming and fairer energy practices. Our mission is simple — to deliver cheaper, cleaner energy by harnessing the power of the sun and giving back to the people who need it most.

Our innovative model uses leased public buildings to generate solar power, and the energy we sell back to the grid allows us to pass significant savings on to our elderly community members. Businesses also benefit from discounted solar installations and a share of the energy sold to the grid. Together, we’re building a brighter, more sustainable future.
